What is the "Washed Process"?

The washed (or wet) processing method is one of the most refined coffee processing techniques. Freshly harvested ripe red cherries undergo depulping to remove the outer skin and pulp, leaving behind the parchment-covered beans. These beans are then thoroughly washed to remove any remaining mucilage and sugars before being sun-dried on raised beds until the ideal moisture level is reached. This process results in a cleaner, more balanced cup with bright acidity and well-defined flavors.
